A Series of Fortunate & unfortunate Events...

Saturday was a relatively good day. With a few "Fortunate Events".

Although it rained heavily in the morning, but the rained didn't persist for long, and I still managed to get to Sentosa as planned with bernard, zhiyong, jac, sebas, tresa & met eric & yufeng there. But sad to say, tresa gotta leave only after abt an hour of stay?? lol....

Although the day at the beach was short, it was still fulfilling and enjoybale. At least we get to have some games of "competitive" volleyball.

It was still quite early when i got home, and so decided to catch a movie when my fren called. Forunately again, we managed to get tickets to this sneak preview with a relatively good seats in Cathay Cineleisure. And the show is non-other than.....

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

It was indeed a great show starring Jim Carrey, Jim Carrey AND Jim Carrey! Well, that was what the trailer said... To me, it was all worth the $8.50 and 108mins of my time. I would give it 4 stars out of 5!

Well, the next movie I must catch would be Howl's Moving Castle. haha... it's an Anime!!

The midnight show and stayed up really drained me, such that i only managed to wake up at 1pm the next day!! half a sunday gone just like that!! arrgghh............. that's unfortunate event no. 1
Looking at the weather, it was fine, so i throtted down to ECP looking forward to my blading session in the cool sea breeze and afternoon sun. Then, another UNfortunate Event happened....
It started to pour when my bus reached ECP after over 40mins of bus journey... @#$!%&.
Refused to believe i would be so "suay", i still walk over to ECP hawker center, had my very late lunch and waited, and waited, and waited....... the rain continues to fall, and fall, and fall.....
Finally, i decided to head back... sigh.. wasted 3 hours of my time travelling from the West to te East, then from the East back to the West....

Imagine how you will feel when you reach your home and the skies begin to clear, and there seems to be rays of sunlight shining through the clouds.... Feb 27th 2005 is an UNLUCKY day for me....

Time of Your Life

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" - Greenday

"....Time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go
So make the best of this test and don't ask why
It's not a question but a lesson learned in time...."

This songs once again pops into my head after hearing it in the CNY cum CAB. Yet another meaningful lyrics and wonderful melody.....

Last night Hall 9 CNY dinner gathering left a sense nostalgia feeling for me. Seeing so many familar faces once again after a long "departure" brings back some memories of my past 3 years of hall life. Well, it was a great event, minus the lack-lustre food menu...

Believe it or not, tonight's the first time i had Instant noodles for dinner since the day i moved back from hall. Yup, as long as i can recall, i haven't touched instant noodle since. Hrmm.... mainly becos i had wonderful mum who's a great cook that dishes out mouth-watering meals whenever i'm home for meals. Those packets of instant noodles were "magnificent".. lol not trying to be corny here, but "they" brought me fond memories when i was in hall.

During those days, instant noodles nearly became my staple food, (it did towards my final year) becos of unbelieving low cash flow and sometimes the unavailability of canteen food.
Those were the times when we worshipped every packets of instant noodles we had, "pooling together resources (read: instant noodles, hotdogs, eggs, etc....)", just so that we could whip up a decent meal for ourselves . I should express my gratitude to people like tresa, fiona and theresa for the "instant noodles companionship" during my final year in hall 9. I swear that i ate more instant noodles that year for meals than i did in canteens. lol. (I was leading such an unhealthy and toxicated life-style!!!!)

Gone are the days when i can assuringly buy a tub or packets of grass jelly and finished it together with "grass-jelly eaters" in the block. Well, Hall life has a different meaning to me. It;s the most memorable and enjoyable time of my life.

Well, i guess this old sayings is true, "You never cherished something until u lose it." Crappy tagline for separated couples?? I beg to differ.

That's a typical Pisces' Trait for u: Emotional.

"...So take the photographs and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while ...."

Dreams - 2

12 FEB 2005 (Saturday)
#$*%^.....

Wat a way to start my blog. well, all becos of a wasted wait for a Mobilisation being "90% sure" activated. Well, that's SAF for u... make u wait and wait... and wait in VAIN!

One whole afternoon waiting for that phone to ring, with my full battle order all packed and ready to go, but it didn't materialised. Damn.

That means next saturday will be the "real" one. aargghh,.... 2 saturdays wasted just like that!! %$!^&*#@....

Oh well, shall blog on sometime "happier".

11th FEB 2005 (Friday)
yes...., went back to work, and to my surprise, the MRT was as empty as a weekday 10am 'crowd' instead of the usual "let me in the train, pls move in..., i'll be late if i don't get into THIS train..."
The Vocabulary "Lunch-Crowd" does not applies on this day at Raffles Place (the heart of S'pore Financial activities). Seats were so easily "reserved" with the usual " 不起眼 " tissue pack.
One bonus for working today though, since majority of the companies were closed for holidays, work in the office/banking hall was soooooo "peaceful". How wonderful if everyday were to be this way!!! Nothing to do, so managed to leave the office early at.... 6:45!!! Yeaaahh!! To make my day even more 'joyous', was that my boss allows me to take 2 days leaves for a long weekend this coming week! YES, YES!!! (well, taking leave in this coy is not as easy as anyone thought, especially for someone who's still on probation...)

10th FEB 2005 (Thursday)
Today is a Special day For me!! haha.. not becos its 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, but becos I can drive a car without the need to display the 'P' Plates, LEGALLY!!
Anyway, i nvr displayed them throughout the period when i am required to whenever i drove... hahaha
Not becos i wan to break the law, but not worth it to spend over tens of dollars for 2 Triangles when placed in the car, kinda blocked some of my view... lol! Furthermore, by not displaying those triangles, I can avoid been stereo-typed and kena overtake countless time or being horned by other "experience" drivers.

Of cos, today's also the day where the usual lot of us went to fiona's house for some new year celebration! the usual snacking and gambling. Well, my luck was indeed good, only that it takes a turn for the worst as the night wears in.. lol Anyway, Its all in the spirit of fun, not so much of the money won or lost. If not for work the next day, i could have stayed longer.. cos i realised i havent snacked enuff at her house!! hhaa

p.s. At this point in time, I am addicted to this cranberries's song, Dreams. That explains why i am reluctant to take this song off my blog....All thanks to the heavy advertisement by CitiGems. As mentioned earlier, It's a highly successful commercial!

Dreams

Dreams - The Cranberries

"... Oh my life
Is changing everyday
In every possible way
And Oh my dreams
It's never quiet as it seems
Never quiet as it seems..."

Liked a particular commercial by Citigems that's been excessively played on TV mobile and on the TV recently.

Why? Cos it stars 2 of my fave mediacorp chio bus! i.e. Fiona Xie and Joanne Peh! and the "story depicted by teh commercial is excellent! Instead of the usual Guy get jewellery for gals or gals posing around with shiny diamonds, this commercial brings in the element of great friendship and links it very well to their product..
Not forgetting the theme song used for the commercial... none other than that playing in the background now.

Back to blogging..

4th Feb (Friday)
First time visit to wala-wala, and it was a 1hr queue before admission into this popular water-hole along holland V. Well, abit of disappointing for me though, cos i was actually looking forward to a Live band with a female lead singer. Don't know why, but i just like to hear female singers in live band, especially when they take on songs by Cranberries, No Doubt and the likes of them. After all, ladies still have much pleasant vocals.... lol

5th February (Saturday)
An eventful day
Sort of. The day started late at ard 11, cos took the chance to sleep longer from the late night stayed up. Did a very "Chop-chop" shopping at an ADIDDAS boutique in Orchard OG, after i failed to find the desired ADDIDAS apparel at Queensway. (I am beginging to love ADIDDAS apparels, due to its design, colours, logo and most importantly, the reasonable price range in sports apparrel). Then off to meet up the seller for a
V3 Bluetoth Headset that i bidded off the Yahoo auction at half the normal retail price. Well that was after another "Chop-chop" window shopping ard PLza Singapura, where I Located, Yes, an Asics Boutique there with all items on SALE!!! Damn, i gotto control my budget now, so i just had to tell myself to wait til my pay day before I can spend anymore... hope the sale will still be on when that day arrives.. *pray* *pray*

Time is tickling away too fast, and i need to get to NTU for my weekly fix of volleyball games with my Vball khakis which comprises mainly former grads from NTU as well as some foreigners. The sun was really scorching hot, but dont know why, it rained just as heavy as the sun shone. Fortunately, the rain died off after an hour, and we STILL managed to carry on with our games.

Actually comtemplating to catch the movie "
Finding Neverland" on this night becos of the review as well as the story sypnosis from the newspaper. They warned that tears will flow when u watched teh show. A sad story? that's my kinda movie.. haha. Well, the last movie that nearly wet my eyes was an italian movie,"Life is Beautiful".Another worthy movie would be "The Pianist". After a great dinner chat with my vball khakis at boon lay market, i realised i couldn't make it for teh movie. Must make sure i catch the movie tmrw!!! Even if it means Alone! Well watching alone may be better, at least no one will catch me with tears rolling down, IF the movie can do what the reports claim.
