Heaven

"Heaven" - Bryan Adams

"...Oh - thinkin' about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Now nothin' can take you away from me
We been down that road before
But that's over now..."

P.s. this was a tribute song to the victims of 9/11 terrorist attack.

"Tsunami"

That's the most talk-about word since 26th Dec 2004.
I guess everyone knows what mother nature is capable of on this day.

Condolences goes out to citizens and the population affected by the tsunamis.
Well, I can't help thinking how short one's life is.

How long can we live? I'm already over 2 decades old. how many more decades to go even if natural death were to befall on me eventually?

Where will we go? Is there really afterlife?
who knows? Religious or not, will we really be living in the same way as we are right now?
Will we be still working for a livlihood in "the other world"??
will we still remember the friends we made now? The same family whom we lived together with?

Even if there really is life after death, Can we retain our memories?
Can we keep with us or bring along with us all the decades of memories that made up our life?

This may sounds pessimistic. But we gotta be realistic. I hate to think about all this.
But sometimes, some events/news/images just jolted ur mind and reminded me.

where do we go after this life time is up?
We will be non-existence. And we might not have any recollections of our life here.

Happy Christmas 2

Its Boxing Day!!

Quite an "eventful" christmas this year.

24th Dec (Christmas Eve aka 平安夜)
Although its still normal working hours for me, but met up with some of my hostel frens from NTU for a buffet dinner at Kublai Khan.
A place strongly NOT recommeded for any "buffet-goers". The food are Stale and it's definitely not value for money.

A drink at Alley Bar kinda makes up for the horrendous buffet spread, with my new found fav beer, "Hooegardeen" (can't make up the speeling...).

25th Dec Christmas Day!
A fully packed day.

Started with a healthy routine of workout at CF gym in the bright morning before making my way to Sim Lim to get a present for....... MYSELF!

Found a great bargain for
Cannon Ixus 40 ( the latest slim Model) @ ONLY $530!
But ironically, i got a
Nikon Coolpix 4100 instead!!
haha.. i made a decision to go for "Quality Superiority" instead of "Where style meets substance".
I admit that the nikon coolpix is nowhere compared to the Cannon Ixus 40 in terms of aesthetical value, but in terms of picture quality, my nikon coolpix 4100 wins Hands-down!
Its small though not slim, and very light too.

Suddenly a craving for the
"Shilin" fried Chicken made me make a trip down to Far East Plaza and qued 15mins for a taste that is hardly close to the authentic street-hawking fried chicken in taiwan....

At night, it was time to put my newly bough nikon Coolpix 4100 to the test! Went to tanglin-orchard with my bro to take pictures of the christmas lightings! And yeS! the picture quality was truly Fantastic! Check out the pics!

26th Dec ( Boxing Day)

Started the morning with a short meet-up with my AIA insurance agent for a review. while making my way there, saw people having some kinda basketball competition, and that reminds me that i havent been going for my weekly vball session with my regular vball khakis for 1 MONTH!! all becos of unmatched schedules and holidays.. Nest sat is a New Years day, which means no more vball for next week!! ARRGGgghh....

Looking at the weather and the mornig sun, i have another regrets... I havent been to Sentosa for AGES!!! Missed busking in the sun at the beach with good games of vabll and most importantly, missed swimming at the beach!! Just hope this rainy season will pass soon, so that i can pack my gears and make arrangements, w/o the need to worried on the unpredictable weather at this point of time...

That brings me to the point that i need to look for the special someone who will be willing to head down to Sentosa with me every week.. haha

Not easy huh...??

Happy Christmas

"Happy Christmas (War is Over)" - John Lennon

"So this is Christmas, And what have you done
Another year over, And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas

I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones, The old and the young
A very Merry Christmas,

And a Happy New Year

Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear..."

This has got to be my Favourite X'mas song. It's very different, very soothing, very comforting.
Especially the lyrics. Every sentence is very meaningful.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year To All!

Was overjoyed when i heard from tresa the news, that hall 9 Vball team (M) has advanced to quarter-finals. 2 sets straight victory over hall 5 and hall 8.
Well, although i wasn't in the team anymore, and in no ways associated with the team, but don't know why, i felt really very very happy the moment i found out about the result.

That's passion for a sport? passion for the hall?
both i guess.
Hoping and praying that i will have the chance to catch the quarter-finals match if it so happened to be held on a weekends or weekday nights... and of cos,for hall 9 vball team to advance to Semis, then to FINALS!!
well, its not impossible.., hall 9 did that before 2 yrs ago...

I sold my Casio Exilim today.
Yup, my precious Casio Exilim. I felt a sense of sadness when i sold it. afterall, it has been with me fr the past 1 year.
But it has been my intention all along to sell it to finance a new camera. Otherwise i wouldn't have put it up in the yahoo auction in the first place.

Contracdicting.

SHOUT

"Shout" - Tears For Fears

"...SHOUT, SHOUT, LET IT ALL OUT
THESE ARE THE THINGS I CAN DO WITHOUT
COME ON, I´M TALKING TO YOU, COME ON
SHOUT, SHOUT, LET IT ALL OUT...

IN VIOLENT TIMES YOU SHOULDN´T HAVE TO SELL YOUR SOUL
IN BLACK AND WHITE
THEY REALLY REALLY OUGHT TO KNOW
THOSE ONE TRACK MINDS
THAT TOOK YOU FOR A WORKING BOY
KISS THEM GOODBYE
YOU SHOULDN´T HAVE TO JUMP FOR JOY..."

Wished i could shout out loud...
Feeling very "frustrated". dont know if its the right word to use.
In movies and darama, they say u can shout at the beach, at the rail way track...., but i doubt its really that feasible. try standing at East Caost beac or Sentosa beach and shout.. Stares will be invited...
standing at the railway track.., the next minute, police will arrive thinking u wan to commit suicide...

Sometimes, i think shouting will work.. it SHOULD help to let out the unhappiness inside u. the frustration that have been contained inside...

The day hadn't been pleasant.
Firstly, I was reluctant to wake up and go to work...
Next, i committed mistakes AGAIN at work...
So many times i oversighted the things that i checked through... And the ironic thing is, my responsibility is to check and ensure no errors..., yet, loopholes always slipped from my pair of tired eyes...

Well, my fren told me this over lunch the other day:"signs that you are sick of ur job"

  1. You are looking forward to knock-off time
  2. Hope that weekends will quickly arrive
  3. Keep comitting mistakes at work
  4. Get tired easily at work
  5. Keep falling sick
  6. dread going to work.'

hmm... i think criteria 1-4 relates very closely to me.. At least i dont dread going to work. But i am not looking forward to work as well...

Well then, i asked myself, why do i accept this job offer initially? Is that "thing" that made me accept the job still there?? probably i was looking for a chance then. I need to think it through sometime... thoroughly...

Tmrw's another day.....

Beautiful Ones

"Beautiful Ones" - Suede

"...loved up, Doved up, hung around, stoned in a lonely town
shaking their meat to the beat,
High on diesel and gasoline, psycho for drum machine
shaking their bits to the hits,

...Oh, here they come, the beautiful ones, the beautiful ones...."

Yup, the night on 18th Dec (Sat) was filled with beautiful people.
It's my Company DnD at the Marina Mandarin, and its my first attendance an an Official Company DnD as an employee status.

It was kinda funny. Cos i ws never enthusiastic or thrilled with my coy DnD , as i don't expect it to be fun, judging from the poor attendance rate, (which i guess only 50% of the company staffs turned up) and that majority of the guests would be over 30yrs of age.

Well, i was wrong. Totally and absolutely wrong.
In fact, This is the most entertaining DnD i have been to.
i'm seirious.
It's more Happening than the DnDs during my hall life.

Reason: The host was excellent, the programs were great, and the most crucial factor....,

THE BTM STAFFS WERE A GREAT LOT OF FUN AND SPORTING PEOPLE!!

Especially the Japanese staffs, they were sporting, no ranks, so seniority, no airs were displayed when they were asked to volunteer for games, no matter how stupid the games may sound/look.
Well, i really admire their spirit, and perhaps their culture. When its time to let loose, they really Let loose!
The same goes for the rest of the staffs who were at the dinner. Practically EVERYONE was so "on".

And I thot youngster were supposed to be more sporting?? I was wrong! hahaa....
No to mentioned the Theme was "World Fiesta" and everyone was encouraged to dress in any country costume they wished. And it was really and eye-opening experience to see so many people dressed up in all sorts of costume! not forgetting myself and fellow graduate trainees dressed in "Cowboy suits" and bohemian theme for the ladies.
(The 4th Batch BTM Grad. Trainees)

The "Bohemian" Gals.

The "Cowboys"

Eye-opener No. 2: Yup, the BTM Ladies were gorgeous. All the ladies who dressed up, they really look 10 years if not more, younger than they look!

Gotten a free airbrush tattoo at the function itself of a tribal design. Kinda like the design, and I am seriously contemplating of getting a permanent one! hahaa...
And Lucky me, although i didnt managed to win the 1st prize in the lucky draw (which was a $2000 worth of air tix to any destination), i managed to win a portable radio-cum-CD player and $30 Isetan voucher in teh Midnight lucky draw! hahaah.. FIRST TIME Ever i won a lucky draw at any dinner function!

Sure am Loking forward to next year company DnD. But i have a feeling that i might just be "arrowed" into the committee, being a "freshie" in the coy....

Spectacular, Spectacular

'Spectacular, Spectacular" - Theme From Moulin Rogue

"...So exciting The audience will stomp and cheer
So delighting It will run for fifty years
So exciting The audience will stomp and cheer
So delighting It will run for fifty years ..."

Spectacular! That's the vocabulary to describe wonder of the theme song for the Sentosa Ad airing on the tv currently.
Yup, I'm refering to the so "soothing" song/music that is being used for their latest commercial.

You wouldn't believe it, humming to that tune when i was feeling so frustrated and vexed with my mundane routine job of checkings, really does perks me up! Amazing isn't it?

So, I'm now searching high and low thru the web hoping that i can locate that music! Try it (I mean the music), it really soothes ur soul when u are not feeling right!

Hmm.. watching that ad always makes me missed Sentosa.. yeah, havent been there for ages...

Read about some happenings in the IHG games cocerning Hall 9 today at bernard's and tresa's blogs. Again, i think the word spectacular would best described what i have read.
The Soccer team Victory over hall 10 (our ih arch-enemy), and the volleyball team outstanding performance, managing a 1 set win over last year's IHG Champion.
Wished icould witness the actions, but i just couldn't.
And probably so for the rest of the games as well... so disappointed.
Anyway, Hope Hall 9 will create history again in this year IHG and end with a spectacular showdown!

Damn, down with a flu and cough today. Hated this kind of sick feeling...
why do al illness have to come one after another.. probably i have been stucked up in the office for too long...
the air is bad.
Yes, It sure is.
Coupled with the fact that i could not take any leaves during this oh so long probation.

I will survive. and I must survive! For the sake of the prorated year end bonuses and leaves entitlement next year end.
Yes.. I will perserve!!

Superstar

"Superstar" - Jamelia

"...I dont know what it is,That makes me feel like this,
I dont know who you are,But you must be some kind of superstar,
Coz you got all eyes on you no matter where you are..."

Well, my first "contact with this song was actually during the telecast of Singapore Idol, and if i'm not wrong, Mia performed this song.

cos i rmbr she did a horrible song that has the lyrics, "ey oh ey oh ey oh.." in it. when i first heard her sang it, i was totally turned-off.. Just like the way anyone would felt when they heard Taufik performing the "Usher's" song, and Sylvester with his version of "It's My Life".

The way Mia goes "ey oh ey oh ey oh" was really so "artificial", irritating and "no-soul"... Unlike when Jamelia performed it, this song straight away caught my attention immediately.

hmm.. today's weather was fine... And i managed to go for a swim when the sky was still cleared in noon. Had sushi at Genki sushi before that, but didnt dare to binge on it cos it wasn't a buffet lunch. But i still swept the conveyor belt's salmon sushi roll.. haha, cos its the cheapest at $1.20 per plate.

The other half o f the day seems empty.. cos initially i planned to catch the show 'Umizaru" in Cathay Cineleisure, but there is no screening today!! Arrgghh.. There was though an Exclusive showcase yesterday.. hmm.. wat's with this "Exclusive showcase" thingy anyway...??

Was planning to go down to NTU to root for the hall 9 IHG female basketball initially, but i was just plain too lazy to travel to Boon lay. My Mind is telling me 'Go!" But my Body is saying "No.".. Anyway, hope Hall 9 Teams will do well in this year IHG!

Wanted to do so many things, but just plan lazy to move..... arrgghh... I feel so "wasted" today....

Free

"Free" - Ultra Nate (Theme Song: I Know What You Did Last Summer)

"...now's the time
'cause you're free....
to do what you want to do
you've got to live your life,
do what you want to do.."

Today started off early. At 8:50am, i was already awake. Guess my biological Clock has started to tune in and i can't seem to sleep passed 9 am unless i force myself to stay in bed after i woke up.
Might as well, since i intend to wake up at 9, to meet my frens for Blading at ECP!

Havent really ben to ECP to blade all along, mainly becos it was simply too far and inaccessible for me. But hey! ECP is really a great place to blade, after much of its track has been "reconstructed" and new tracks been laid that allows you to blade/cycle all the way to the the Changi Airport runway to watch the planes land and take-offs.

Actually this blading and cycling trip was planned for last week, but my untimely fever last week made me postponed this "trip" to this week.
Met up with Victor at harbour-front Seah Imm food center for a breakfast before heading down to ECP to meet up with KX and Nic.

Well, when i was abt a stop away from harbour-front, vic called and said he just woke up. hhaa.... so I make use of the "extra time" that i have and went to DBS bank and opened a CPF investment account. I need that for my investment plan for one of my investment policy to be managed by my "Business Development Manager". well, thats the title the company usually gives them.
Afterall, i cant touch the growing amt of money in CPF now, might as welll put it into good use thru investment and managed by professionals.

The Adventure Begins....
By the time we met up with KX and Nic, it was about 12, and we (me and vic, cos KX and Nic took the bikes) practically blade/cycle non-stop for 1 and half hrs until forced to stop and hide from the rain.
The rain didn't dampen our spirit, as the sky cleared in abt 30 mins, and we carried on and headed to the stretch of road running along-side the Changi Airport Runway, leading to Changi Ferry terminal. Courtesy of Nic, we managed o get our way there and saw a couple of planes taking off and landing.

hmm.. if my memory didn't failed me, i recalled seeing Air Zimbawe, MAS Airlines, SIA, Silk Air aircrafts taking off at a rather close distance. However, i still can't appreciate the beauty of aircrafts taking off and landing or flying overhead me. Well, at least it was a rather unique and enjoyable experience for me though!

Tha rain left the tracks wet and slippery, so the way back to Macdonald's was a slow and cautious one. Damn, if it hadn't rained ear;ier, it would have been so much fun...
It was good "training" though, blading for 2 hrs plus, nett the stopover during the rain.

Me, Vic, Kx, Nic. Near the Changi Airport Runway...

Work-out and FOOD!
So people, dont envy me for having such non-fat structure on my body. Try my timetable of activity for a month, and i can assure u the same results... hahaa... I feel that i have shed 2kg today, despite gobbling down a really large bowl of Mee siam at parkway parade. I swear that's the biggest bowl of Mee Siam/ Mee Rebus. What's more, its only selling for $3!!! the size is equivalent to 2 bowls of wat u get outside. One deadly flaw though, It was way way too spicy even without any chilli. Makes me feel like having a sore throat now. and, it was not really fantastic in terms of taste. Maybe the Mee Rebus that KX and Nic had would measure up. Well, as usualy, one bowl of anything wont make me full, so i carried on to get some snacks... quite heaty and deep fried snacks..maybe that contributes to my emerging sore throat as well... *sigh*

oops.. seems like i blog too much today.. haha...
hopefully, tmrw's weather will be great for me to hit the pool. I can't wait to put my newly-learned free style into practise. Well, i learnt the free style in the Sentosa beach a couple of weeks ago (thru a "Monkey-See-Monkey-do" approach). Since i will not have companion for Sentosa tmrw, might as well head down to a nearby pool and worked on my free-style..... *Pray* *pray*

Friday I'm In Love

"Friday I'm In Love" - The Cure

"i don't care if monday's blue
tuesday's grey and wednesday too
thursday never looking back
it's friday i'm in love
saturday wait
and sunday always comes too late
but friday never hesitate..."

Hmmm..... it's FRIDAY Once Again!!! Yeaaaahhhh.!!!!!
And hence, the reason to blog! Well, the reason for not blogging for the past few days is becos, i practically had nothing "interesting" to blog about... or simply, i don't know wat to blog...
hahaa.. ok, partly due to the fact that i was lazy, or perhaps, "tired" would be a better word. By the time i'm back home, its already so late that i just wanna go to bed so that i have more sleep, else i will nvr wake up in time the next morning.

Anyway, Today's FRIDAY and I'm In LOVE..... WITH F-R-I-D-A-Y!!! so do't get misled by my blog's headline.

Well, todays good. hha... cos i managed to get off from work rather early, as i was expecting to stayed back, since normally", friday will be a day of huge volumes of work. but surprisingly, not THIS friday.

So i managed to get my hair cut in a nearby salon thats just opposite my workplace. Its tucked away in a corner, and people can missed it, but once u enter, the interior is really big and spacious. U can find at least 7-8 hair stylist there.

It's my first visit t here, and it was a "on-the-spot" kinda decision to choose this particular salon.
Reason: Cos teh hair stylist looks professional and there were more male hair stylist.
So wat's the thing with male stylist. Simple. throught the years, a simple 'experiment" done on my hair proves one fact. Male hair stylist doe a better job at hair cut.

And in fact, i walk out of the salon, a happy man. No more bad hair days. At least the 30 mins wait was worth it!

Now, just wait for the night to past and its blading at ECP tmrw morning! Yeah! An eventful day is about to begin!!

A new hair-do! and a side profile.Finally its a better one
than the past many attempts!

"... I don't care if monday's black
tuesday wednesday heart attack
thursday never looking back
it's friday i'm in love..."

November Rain

"November Rain" - Guns N' Roses

"Sometimes I need some time...on my own
Sometimes I need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone"

woooh..... !! Its a cool chilly nite, with light drizzle. Perfect weather for a X'mas Day setting in a tropical country like Singapore. Too bad, its not X'mas day today.

Today's Monday... And i Finally understood what it means by "Monday Blues".

I forgot to "wear" my smile to work today. Something that i hardly forget to do so whenever i am out.
why?
Probably too tired.
Result: I could have possibly offended many people, passer-bys included.

Anyway, today havent been a really fantastic day, neither has it been a disastrous day. At least no major screw-ups at work.
But getting off late and still going to the gym resulted in me having a late dinner that seems more like a supper for anyone in Lau Pa Sat, where i had my dinner. (Practically, that is the only place in my work area that still serves a variety of food at that hour...)

hmmm..., eating at Lau Pa Sat reminds me that i have not being there for satay for quite some time.... probably its time i re-visited it one of these weekends....

Sigh, loking at the clock, it's nearing bed-time, better turn in, else i will not be able to get to work in time tmrw.... Another day has passed, so fast....
so uneventful...

Immortal

"My Immortal" - By Evanescence

"these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is just too real there's just too much that time cannot erase...
when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears when you scream i'd fight away all of your fearsand i've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me"

Finally, after browsing through and conscientiously reading up my fren's blogs, i have succumb to "temptation" and strated on my 1st Blog!
After all, my life's not so "Uneventful" that i will have nothing to write about..

well., something worth "recording" in this blog is that on Friday, 3rd Dec 2004, I fell sick and down with fever, after ard 2 years ago when i last fell sick...
And the cause of it? I am 101% sure its that danm Chicken Byrani that i had at Golden Shoe. At first i thot i got a Bargain when the lady boss gave me a Half Chicken without charging me extra! the next thing i know, 2 hours after my lunch, i began to feel weird... queasy... Thats the kinda feeling i got 2 yrs ago when i was sick for eating the wrong food too. Viral infection? Probably.

I swear, i will never patronize that stall ever again, cos it breaks my record of not falling sick for the past 2 years...

and there goes my precious friday night and the whole of saturday! Lying in bed like a dead person... Damn, i have waited a long 5-days for this weekend to come, and its ruined by a "Thot-i-got-a bargain-chicken-byrani" Now i have to wait for another 5 long gruelling days for my next prrrreeeecious weekend.....
