Kind Kopitiam Auntie

This blog is specially for the wonderful Kopitiam auntie who treated me to a cup of home made chrysanthemum tea. Although i seriously doubt she will come to know of sucha blog entry, but a little gesture of her perks up my mundane, uneventful day.

The story goes like this.....
Was looking for a eatery near my workplace after like 10plus at night, until i decided to settle for coffee-shop that sells "Zi Cha" along the back alley of Boat quay.

It was astonishing that this auntie from the Kopitiam offered me a free drink despite the fact that i refuse to order a drink for my "dinner".

Was half-way thru my fried Hong Kong Mee, when this auntie passed me a cup of chrysanthemum, and said that it was a treat! I was so touched at that moment....
A coffee shop owner offering free drink!

Of cos, i didn't forgot to thank her after my meal, and what she said really makes my day (although it was like 1 hr before the next day begin...).
"吃这个面口很干,要喝些水。 反正这水是我们自己泡的,不用多少钱。"
Touched to power of 10..!!!
sound so full of 母爱....!!

Did I mention the location of this Kopitiam?

It's called "Cityfront Kopitiam", located along the back lane of Boat Quay. The food not bad either.
And they serve very delicious Duck rice in the afternoon to cater to the office crowd.

Once again, 谢谢你, auntie!

Just Do iT!

I have been toying with "the" idea for some time...
the plan shall get into action soon, i suppose...

Never thought i will want to do this years back... in fact, it never crossed my mind... So why now?
Perhaps I need a change. Just want to try new things. Humans should evolve over ONE's the life time and not over genarations or centuries... Maybe a change will do us good.

So my advice to all my frens, do what you feel like doing as long as the consequences are not unbearable.

after all, One Life, ---> Live It!

"... you gotta live your life,
Do what you want to do...."

Horrible Facts!

yet again, the weekends over faster than you can say " Yippppeeee, It's Weekend"!
I am so looking forward to the long weekend 5 days away from this date....

Tuning in to Class 95 on my reliable "obsolete" FM receiver for the day reminds me of a cruel fact...
"Time and Tides" wait for no man. In layman's term, people aged...

And for the first time, I begin to feel "old"...
How i wished time would stop a year of so ago. Or perhaps, time could just pass abit more slowly then....

Starting to feel restless and lethargic the moment i am not doing my fave sports.
Or more precisely, i require more 'recuperation' period after full day of exercise/sports/games.

Sustaining thru late nights are only possible provided that i do not "exert too much energy". Meaning no more Cheong-ing session... Instead, i would choose to sit down, sip a glass of cocktail/controlled intake of beer. (Cos a little beer sometimes, can do good. But excessive can damage your liver no matter how hard you workout!!), and enjoy "not too noisy" music... Something like "I can hear what you are singing" kinda music...

A horrible fact hit me recently....
My "debt" has begin it's roll....
over 17k of debt to be repaid... well to do that fast, it means i seriously need to control my budget for the YEARS to come.... That also means i have to continue to clock my OT in order for me to earn that fixed meagre amount of allowance for unlimited OT hours clocked...

Of cos, my wish is to repay it ASAP, else i can never fulfil my small little dream of owning a four-wheeler that i can call my own, fully paid by myself....
Maybe i should start trying my luck every week at the Singapore Pool station. who knows, i may just be lucky enuff... hrmmm......

你相信有童话故事般的结局吗??

"...我要变成童话里
你爱的那个天使
张开双手变成翅膀守护你.."
So far only managed to catch the Flash (.swf) version of the MV for this particular song, 童话 by 光良。

They are much similarities betwwen the Flash Video version and the original MTV, from what i gathered... Well, have to checked out the original version til my download completes then...

The Flash video version ws quite nice, depicting the sorrow and sentimentality of teh performer as according to the lyrics of the song.
http://www.lcbtv.com/flash/movie/tonghua.swf

Can't help it but feels that this is the kind of typical song for those NKF drama serial by Mediacorps. Like the “孩有明天” drama serial, i think this song should be made the theme song for the just concluded NKF drama serial, "活下去".
If anyone does watch this drama serial, picture the song being played back during certain scenes and it all seems so apt...!
eg. The final episode scene when the male lead (liangyi)and feifei played by Jaonne Peh met up at the ice cream stall, and the guy just fall and died the moment they met up. seems so fairy tale, but without a fairy tale ending though....
“...你哭着对我说
 童话里都是骗人的
 我不可能是你的王子 ..."

A rather inspirational drama serial with some inspirational quotes, reminding how fortunate most of us are.

As the lyrics depict,
" ... 你要相信
相信我们会像童话故事里
幸福和快乐是结局 ..."

How often do we see such fairy tale endings around us??

**Update @ 2:00pm**
I'm Mad...
a fren called me up last minute to join them for Beach Vabll at Sunset NOW!!
Hahaa. How can I reject such an Offer!!
I'm Insane.. Volleyball has taken over my Life... *tsk* *tsk*

A Full Day OF Volleyball

I didn't believe it myself... 我竟然 managed to play a ful day of Volleyball On Saturday....

The day started with leisure beach volleyball at sentosa with my fellow BTM GTs. Hopefully this managed to get them interested in beach volleyball... *evil grin*

The weather was great with some time spent in the sea, kayaking/swimming/suntanning.

Too bad i gotta leave early for my next "volleyball date" at NUS with my usual gang of vball kakis.
Today, we had additional players joinin gus, and they were relatively great players and it felt like the longest and most arduous game since the IHG during those NTU periods...

Too bad, the weather turned for the worst and it started pouring about 2 hrs into the game...

Fret' not, cos we still had ANOTHER Vball session! This time, the heavy rain is not gonna stopped us, as it will be played in VJC indoor court, as a frenly match with the 'A' Divison boys who are training for their Inter-school Competition the coming week.

Playing against the boys makes me feel so old... afterall, we are/almost a decade older than them... 真的是岁月不饶人。。。。。
well, at least i still look young.. hahaah (indulging in Self-deception)

So parctically it's like one vball session after another until the frenly match ended close to 10pm..!! It was seriously a damn tired but definitely Great day of Volleyball Schedule! Should have more of such session(s) in the weeks to come... ahhaaa....

One regret though, my performance at the frenly match was seriously lousy... like a flash-back to the IHG matches .. I still get the sense of nervounsess and pressure to perform upto people's expectation in matches, and that screwed things up inturn...
Ok, made a resolution to play and train more often to avoid being the "weakest link" in the team.

After the last game at VJC, then i realise that a kocked on the knee i suffered during teh afternoon games got worst that at some point in time, the pain nearly make my leg gave way. the next morning, it was swollen... hmmm...... that wasn't what it was like in the past.. At the most, "blue black" will develop, but not swollen knee...
ok, gonna keep on monitoring... Seems like it is getting better since the pain is subsiding, 'cept for the swelling

Must be the age...
as u get older, recovery from physical injuries seems to be getting slower..., not to mention being more injury-prone when doing sports.... *sad*.. :(

I shall rise again soon for next week games!

Tentative Schedule for Next Weekend:
Sat: (1)Vball at NUS
(2)Frenly with VJC again ( TBC)

Sun: Beach Vball at Sunset Bay !

For the LoNGesT TiMe

The tittle for this blog entry is a lousy representation for the song lyrics this time..
Only the Four Words applies to the "topic" of this blog...
I.e. "For The Longest Time"

Was always looking forward for the days to pass as quickly as possible, especially during the weekdays... It's kinda tortourous for me...
Have to put on a "pretence" that i am enjoying my work for 10 hrs a day, when in actual fact, its the opposite. So naturally, 10hrs a day seems to be the longest time....

A thought suddenly occur to me today, out of nowhere. I am practically wasting my life away since the day i step foot into the society. Putting in 5 days a week doing things you don't really like...

But that's reality.
Harsh Reality.
How many people in the street will say they are LOVING and TRULY ENJOYING what they are doing, 5 days a week, 10 hrs a day.
Most of us had no choice, and hence ended up compromising.

In fact, i guess those who are doing what they really enjoyed and LOVED, they are teh Really Successful people in the world.
although its a fact that money is important, i would stick to doing things I really LOVED and ENJOY, as long as the monetary rewards are sufficient to sustain a living. So what if u have tens of thousands in ur bank, but u only have 2 days in a week to really live ur life = 96 days out of 365days to spend that money the way u want.

I rather choose to be spending 7 days a week = 365 days out of 365 days doing the things i loved and enjoyed, while sacrificing on luxurious goods.

Well, i should not dwell on unhappy things.

From an incident that happened yesterday night, i realised i am lousy at rejecting people. A lady in her 40s was standing at the same bus-stop as i am, and after waiting for like 5mins, the lady asked if i had $1 to spare. Instead of hesistating and finding excuses, i just passed her a $1 coin. She doesn't look like she needed that $1 to take a bus, but probably she was just trying her luck to get some money from some sympathetic passer-by like me. I was right.

cos all buses went by until mine was the last to come, and she never boarded any of the buses. Anyway, she looked frail and haggard, so well, take it that i did a good deed.
If that $1 can make her feel better without having me feeling like i lost a fortune, why not?

It's Thursday......
This means teh weekends are nearing....
Cool....
wooo hooooo!!!

04042005

Sunday JB session with Fiona, Tresa, zhiyong and Yanran was good, despite the smalll number of people.

It's like a few months ago since we last stepped foot into JB for the usual shopping and "makaan" at "Taman Sri Terbrau" (hmmm.. ddi i spelled it correctly???) Anyway, it "sounds" like "that" haha

Didnt had any intention to do any shopping, but perhaps just window shop. But never did i expect myself to buy the most things among the rest... jialat, i need to watch my budget .... *tsk, tsk, tsk*

well, 2 things horrid abt the JB trip though...:

1) The "Thunder storm" that races in right after we cross the custom.

2) The infamous causeway jam that took like over 1hour plus...

Come to think of it, that means a bad start, followed by a horrid ending for the JB trip. Fortunately, whatever happend in between were enuff to make up for it. sort of.

The next day morning, i was so reluctant to get out of my bed for work.... I dread to go to work nowadays... I am tempted to take MCs. But i am 'reserving" it for those "needy days" when i need to be out for "official matters" but not to work..

That's bad... That's very bad...
I am starting to developed 'Job Dissatisfaction" or rather, it has developed.
It used to be just "No Job satisfaction" ,not to the extent o f "Job Dissatisfaction".
It used to be "no Motivation" and now it's "De-motivation"

The only thing that is 'covering" all these demotivational forces and "Job dissatisfaction", would be the extrinsic satisfaction from the monthly figures that jumped in my bank account. It's not some great amount.., well, at least it's enuff to keep me breathing without being dependent on anyone else.

I pray and hope the Sentosa mgt team gets back to my application. I dont mind a "pay-cut". at least it's workinig for something i know i wouldn't detest. Too strong a word to use?? maybe...
I am not in my right mind. I need the weekends to tune me back...

Oh 我的妈 啊!Its Only MOnday Today!!!

I've Had the Time of My Life.. (almost)

Bill Medley -(I've Had) The Time of My Life Now

"I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I owe it all to you....."

Although the day started out with a gloomy weather that keeps raining and drizzling, it didn't dampen the mood at Sentosa Sunset Bay!

SENTOSA!
I must say my team and I was really really lucky to be able to be "balloted" to take part in the 4-on-4 Beach Volleyball competition @ sunset bay.

Cos they chose 12 teams out of all the whelming entries. Imagine how many entries they would have received from Vball enthusiast, coupling with the fact that the registration and all is FOC!

although we were eliminated in the first round, but it was a good game. It was a tight game until the opponent team break off and opushed to a 25-16 lead over us. It was real fun!
A BIG THANK YOU to Tresa, Sebastian, Jacqueline and Bernard for participating with me to make up the numers!!!
TO Huiyan,Zhiyong and Dailing for Joining us in the FUN at Sentosa too!!

After the game, it has re-ignited my passion for Beach Vball once again. But among my cliques of frens, haha.. really hard to find beach vball players. Mainly are hard court vball players.
And it so happened that the beach vball players i know, are real "Hard-core" players, who play the official 2-on-2 kinda game style. I tried playing once with them, and it really drained me dry in just one game.. 2 person in the court running up down everywhere.. haha..

Still feel that 4-on-4 beach vball is more fun, even though it's not an "official" formation. But who care?? It all boils down to one conclusion.., as long as u are having FUN and having the time of your life from doing what u enjoy, there's no stopping to iT!! lol!!!

Hmm.. currently seeking like-minded frens to go down for beach vball once every week when possible, so if anyone of u out there is one of them, let me KNOW!!
