This is a blog entry on an unusal timing...

Cos's it's 230pm on a weekday afternoon, when I should be in the Office rushing to meet cut-off time.
But I'm at home on MC.
This is the upteem time i have fallen sick since i started work, but so far the first MC i have taken. Still not feeling very well, but lying in bed will make me feel worst.

Finally managed to download the above "Chinese-Oldies" which I like it rather much
Especially the lyrics.
Well, it's interesting to note that when we are young, we wished we could grow up immediately. But when we grew up, we wished we could re-live those childhood days.....

Hopefully i will recover fully by tonight and get back to theh "dreaded" workplace tmorrow...

Bored.....

Although I had an "activities-packed" day today, but it wasn't really fulfilling...

Went to ICA to collect my passport
Reached at 12pm

Headed down to CF as i have missed out on quite a few session during the weekdays... Must keep up with my schedule, else all efforts will be wasted.. (NB. Not referring to weight loss though.. hehe )
reachd ard 1pm after lunch @ Lavender

Actually made plans to meet up with my Dad's financial adviser, with an intention to "question" him on the type of policies that my Dad's took out as i felt that those polices were becoming redundant now, but apparently he was quick enuff to called my bro at home and gave me the answer: " I explained to ur brother already.." what the.... seems to me that he isn't so professional in the field of customer service, as he ACTUALLY didn't tell my bro much...

went to get my haircut again, and this time requested for a very short hair cut. trying to see how it will turn out. hrmm... the results?
Neutral.
Reached at 2:40pm, cos it's conveniently located just opposite CF.

Went down to PS for some impromp-tu shopping for antenna wiring and sports apparel before heading home for a boring night...

Not until I asked my neighbour who wanted to catch a midnight show. actually this "neighbour" of mine lives 1 block away from me, and happened that he's too bored too. So we actually decided to catch THE EYE 10.

Trust me, It's a total waste of Money on that show. Throughout the show, we were trying to figure out is that a horror movie or a comedy? It's really a Spoiler. Don't watch it. Wait for the pirated VCD/DVD> cos it's not even worth ur money to buy the original VCD....

Something rather puzzling though.
There's a Table-tennis Table right in frot of teh first row of seats in the center in the cinema theatre (Prince 1). I'm not seeing things, cos my fren do see that too. Why would any one wan to move a table-tennis Table into the middle of the cinema??

Tropical Contact High

To make up for the lack of blogging, i shall have more updates today. Afterall, today's a HOLIDAY!!

Love the sense of dreamy state and pleasure from having this song being played over and over again....

"...Off the Florida Keys
There's a place called Kokomo
That's where you wanna go to get away from it all
Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
We'll be
falling in love
To
the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo

We'll
get there fast
And then we'll take it slow
That's where we wanna go
Way down to Kokomo
To
Martinique, that Monserrat mystique
We'll
put out to sea
And we'll perfect our chemistry
By
and by we'll defy a little bit of gravity
Afternoon delight
Cocktails and moonlit nights
That dreamy look in your eye
Give me a tropical contact high..."

So i dream, one day that i will be able to make it to Maldives.
Why the suden interest in Maldives? Cos i came across a series of scenic pictures in the newspaper "promoting" Maldives after the tragic killer wave incident last december. Surprisingly, according to the report, the natural corals along the Island has lessen the impact and cause little damage done to what's below in the sea bed.

Maldives, so near yet so far...
so near, cos it's only situated in Southern Asia, in the Indian Ocean, south-southwest of India.
So far, cos i wonder when i can afford the money and time to be there, without and care and worries, and probably to experience the kind of "Tropical Contact High" and feel the bodies in the sand.

I would love to own such an accommodation... reaches right out to the sea!!

A water-suite

For now, I will just settle for those "experiences" in my wonderful homeland island resort, Sentosa!
lol.

Beach Volleyball

haha.. how can i not blog about this sports for so long...??

Yup, The next coming SATURDAY, 2nd APRIL,
There's gonna be a 4-on-4 Beach Volleyball Competition
@ Sunset Bay,
Organised by 动力88.3 (FM 88.3) and the "Navy, Be Somebody".

Hmm.. in case many didn't realise, The Singapore Navy has a tag for it's "slogan", i.e. --> Navy, Be Somebody.

Oh, did i mentioned that the Registration for 4-on4 Beach Volleyball Competition is FREE?? Yes! ITs FREEEEEE>...!!!!!!!!

Upon receiving that info from my fren, i strted to search thru my brain directory for frens who are interested in it. Haha.. and amid all the vball kakis in my "list", Tresa came to my mind! Cos i rmbr she once mentioned that playing beach vball is more entertaining and interesting when u are in a "competitive environment". That i agree TOTALLY.

Hmm.. now need to find more team-mates. cos dont wanna missed the registration.
oh and for the gals, there's supposedly gonna be "hunks" from The Navy on that day, since it's organised by the Navy too. So, that gives u a good excuse to be in the sun.. lol.

hmm... What a Day....

This sunday was suppose to be a great day blading at ECP, except that i got off with a BAD start!

Within 5 mins into blading, i "tripped" and skidded on my blades, and ended with a abrasion on my left knee.
The Reason?

I attribute it to the hind brakes which i took it off, as i find it rather "hindering" at times. Probably i forgotten about the "disappearance of the brakes and "swwwoooppp", i llose balance and suffered a reddish knee-cap. -_-"

Just when i thot the worst was over, a bunch of kids and premature teenagers had to block the path and did "unexpected" U- turns that nearly made me crashed into them for like TWICE!

Luckily no one was there, or he/she gonna hear me curse and swear at that instance... *phew*, my goody image not tarnished yet. lol :)

Applied for a new Passport online at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority website and felt a sense of "accomplishment" for being so "internet-savvy".. hahaa...

Took a instant passport photo at home and with the help of beloved Adobe photoshop program, i managed to yet agai create an instant Passport photo to be submitted online for my passport!

For everyone's info, by applying for a passport online, u get a cash rebate of $10! I.e., if u go down to the place personally, u pay $70. But if you do an online appication, u pay only $60!! The benefit of "Self-service"?? probably....

Before i end today's blog, must mention that i felt so loved by some of my great gal-frens! I only happened to put a title of a song which i heard over the radio as my msn nick, and they showed such concern by asking if anything is wrong! so "感动-ed"
Thanks Gals! I'm fine! Still the happy and mad yz that u know! lol

well, must clarify that i put that nick cos like it very much although it's an old song. FYI, it's the song that's playing on my blog player right now...!

Another scenario when going shopping with girl,
girl: (holding up two clothes) which one is nice?
boy: the blue one looks nicer
girl: is it? I thought the black one is more classy
boy: I agree, take the black one then
girl: But then, the blue one looks quite nice too
boy: yeah
girl: which one is better ?
if boy answer 'black', girl will say he keeps changing his mind and never shows sincererity and care
if boy answer 'blue', girl will say, " told you that the black one looks more class"
But no matter what the boy says, the girl will eventually choose the one she has already decided beforehand.
A lot of the times, the girl might even put the two clothes back (after extensive trying) and says not interested anymore. really don't know what she wants.
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is quite true but not totally. Not all the time girls are like this.

AGREE GALS OUT THERE WHO ARE READING THIS?!!

Dilemma

Friday 11th March 2005

The last day of a week and I left the workplace with a pile of work that will be "greeting" me on Monday morning...
Couldn't finished those jobs on time becos I was seriously held-up by other "non-important" task like "runnig errands" for the Great Auditors.... I began to dislke them, although they may look sweet at times..

To put it in a nice way, they claim that they are doing "testing" and "Sample Collections" on our work processes. Well, that ACTUALLY means: "We are scrutinizing your job process and trying to report mistakes you all make!" becos of that, i have to run up and down to retrieve hard-copies documents for them due to the fact that they themselves FORGOT to do a Thorough check when we gave them all the documents right on the First DAY! Half my afternoon was practically gone doing such nonsensical task for them and ended up i HAVE to stayed back late trying to complete my OWN task, not to mention i can ONLY claim a nominal fixed amount of OT pay that's enuff for 2 macdonald meal, no more than that....

Despite staying back late, i could hardly finish my work as they were piled up since afternoon. But fortunately, a very very kind colleague of mine stayed back to help me! I was very very touched by her actions. When almost everyone has left the office save for my boss, herself and yours truly, she came over to help me, after completing her work and knowing that i am still unfamilar with the documents. I am truly blessed to have such a colleague and becos i don't wish to add on to my guilty conscience, i tried to wrap up the works as soon as possible so that she can leave too. Afterall, she has a family at home waiting for her too.

Left the office with a sense of guilt, having to make someone stayed back due to my "incompetency" and also the fact that i 'may' leave them for a "better" job anytime...
Cos this colleague of mine once told me before that my addition to the department, despite being a green-horn, has lightened some of their workloads. That makes me wonder if i will make the right choice if i were to leave for another job....
I guess not much people will have such wonderful colleagues in the working world. Maybe i should add that you can't find any traces of the so called "office politics" in my department.

Probably being the youngest in the department, i am treated much better? :)

Saturday 12th March 2005

woke up with a flu. actually i "felt" the flu coming on friday night. It must be due o th Ice Teh Limau i had for lunch at Mr. Teh Tarik on friday. Why am i so sure? cos my fren had a diarrahoe after drinking the Ice Milo Dinosaur from the same outlet. That means i will avoid that place for drinks for the next couple of months until i mustered my courage to try any o fthe drinks again...

unshaken by the flu, i still make a trip down to ECP for my "weekly dose" of blading. haha.. i ca't let a light flu take away my only chance to be in the sun with winds blowing against my face doing the thing(s) i like. And the weather was great ! Fiona msg me to go Wala-wala in the night, and i was more the obliging as frankly, i do not have anty plans for the night. What's more, the band that's gonna be in today i s "The Unx-pec-ted" haha... that's how the lead singer spelled her band's name! (oopss.. i didnt managed to catch her own name after the whole night there.. lol). Thanks to Fiona, CY and Bernard for the B'day Dedication Too!

although yesterday was a small crowd, but it was a good night, with endless flow of Hoegarrden, snacks and wonderful live music. Have to leave early as i was overwhelmed by my tireness. Must be due to the flu. And i actually doze off for some moments in the cab....

Sunday 13th March

My flu reached its "final stage" this day. Woke up only at noon, my flu was getting worst. Still , i make my way to Suntec City Tropics atrium for the annual National Cheerleading Competition (a.k.a. Cheerobics 2005).
Stunning and great performance by the Magnum Force, Aces and most of all, the Bangkok University Cheerleading team who graced the ocassion as special guest performance. Their moves were really nowhere compared to any that u find in the IH Cheerleading competiton! And I am proud to announce that i Managed to capture the full performance of BU and Magnum Force in my digi cam as videos and the quality was quite good although it can't be compared to a DV camcorder.
check out some of the pics that i ripped from the video!

Get the videos from me if u didn't cattch the action. Its really a"FABULOUS and Awe-so-Stunning!!!!" performance!

Time of my Life!

Today was a great sunday for me. At least the weather is better than last sunday and I Managed to Blade @ ECP! Yeah...!!!

Actually was a bit turned off initially when i left my house, cos when i was at the bus-stop, a strong gust of wind blew and a sudden rainfall begin!! Immediately, i called the weather forecast hotline and checked..., heng siah... it mentioned that there was no rain detected in the East, and strongly believed that the "forecast" is accurate, i continued my journey... ehehe

Well, i love the Met. station. Cos when trhe bus turned into kallang area, it was a sunny sight that greeted me. :) so i decided to whip out my trusted Sony Ericsson T610 to capture a pictorial moments for this day to and @ ECP. I was surprised at most of the quality i can get from this HP, and it makes me realised that it's a good enuff camera phone as long as the surrounding lightings are sufficient..

Happy me on the bus near marine Parade. See, It's so sunny out there!

That's me blading in ECP! windy and sunny day!

Taken at one end of ECP. The plane were very near..., nearer than in pic

This is a "zoom" in function on my T610. zooming in on the phone equates a smaller pic size..

Gave myself a treat to $1 Choc Chip Peppermint Ice-cream!

My trust-worthy pair of blades that accompanied me for the pass 2 and half hours.

Well, the quality not bad huh? lol

Anyway, gotta say a big thank you to "whoever" kind enuff to "turn off the tap" and "switch on the light" at ECP today! (read: metaphoric interpretation)!
Met celestine, kevin, jiayong some of the "lao-lao-chias" of hall 9 as well, and maybe some others whom i didnt manged to see properly as we were going in opposite direction.. lol

An enjoyable day always passes so quickly... its another 5 boring days before i get to live "the" life again....
:/

时差

Well, the "Cheena Juice" got into me once again, and be prepared to see some chinese words popping out in this blog... lol

Was "inspired" by a show screened on Channel 8 last night, "七号差管"
That was the 3rd time i watch this show. Teh first time was in hostel watching the VCD.

It's one of those Hong Kong Movie with a storyline of police and ghost. Not really a horrror film, but a very heart-warming and touching movie i feel...

The story in summary goes like this:

This 出色 police detective cast by Andy Hui (许志安)go shot in the head in an operation and lay coma for 2 years before waking up and being able to see the "supernaturals" And during his 2 years of comatose, this nurse took care of him and of cos, fell in love with him and so their love blossom.

Ok, the part of the movie that i liked was more towards the end, when AH found out from his ghost buddy that his gf's "生命磁场" is weakening. well, that means her life span and "power of life" is weakening, i.e. dying. NOt being able to decipher what will happen to his gf, AH was helpless and paranoid. Until..., yes the saddest and best part of the movie:

A Container (those that carries by the container ship and long lorries) came crashing down for no apparent reason and crashed her beneath while AH is grabbing her hand trying to pull her away.
And the scene shows only the hand of the female lead jutting out of th econtainer while every other part of her is suppose to be under that container. Tragic.

And when AH was able to see her "spirit" right there and then, he pulled out his gun and attempted to killed himself so that he can be tog with her. However, her gf stopped him and insisted he carry on with life.

Well, i think the show would score more with me if he really pulled that trigger. ahhaa.. sadistic? I don't think so, but i guess that will make a very romantic ending. lol

Right now, i am searching for the theme song of this movie. Used to have it on my comp, not until it crashed.. *sad* anyone have this cantonese song " 时差" by Andy Hui(许志安) , please please inform me!! Its a song in his 2001 album!

hmm ok.. time to blade at ECP now.. It's a SUNNY AFTERNOON!!!

FLY AWAY

Probably I can't think of a suitable enuff title for this particuar blog.

But first of all, let me start this blog from,.......

THURSDAY, 03 March 2005

Something 'special' happened today, cos i met someone special! hrmm. maybe i should say I SAW someone special today. It's a She!

Its Mdm Ho Ching!! Yup, named one of the world's Most POWERFUL Woman by reputable business and economics journal.
The distance between me and Mdm Ho Ching:
<50cm(for not more than 5 secs though.. lol)
haha.... Saw her waiting for the lift in my workplace with another gentlemen.

I must admit i didnt notice her at first glance becos she wasn't dressed too elaborately, nor was the guy beside her. initially i thot they were just pair of peoploe who are going back to office after lunch, not until my colleague first saw her and pointed out!
Took the chance to take a closer look but think would be impolite to stand and stare at her...

Friday 04 March 2005

this day marks the 7th consecutive working days that i knock off after 9 or not earlier than 8, when my "official" knock-off time is 6:30pm.
At this rate, i foresee a trend.
For the next couple of days, couple of months or even years, that WILL be my "NORMAL" knock off time....
And this long workinig hours is not justified by any monetary or non-monetary benefits. slogging for nothing... no achievement, no gain, no benefit, and yet u just have to do it....
I need to find a way out before this "trend" becomes a reality. I seriously feel that i am becoming more and more "stupid" with each passing day, cos my mind isn't working. I mean, i am doing mundane and almost "no-brainer" activities.... all my 3 years of university education gone to waste. laden with over 15k of education debt for no good cause......

Well, one consolation though. Its WeekEND once again. Time for me to enjoy, get out to the sun and the Sea! My Prrrrreeeeeecioussss weekend.....

No Rain for this weekend PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
