跑吧!孩子!

I feel like running... running in the literal sense...
I havent done a "real" run for almost 4 months...

Suddenly today, I just take any chance to do a short sprint.

Short sprint to the car park, to the post office, and also up the carpark slope, even in executive wear...

I do missed the feeling of running now...
Tomorrow, I shall run my fave route;
pass esplanade and down Marina Promenade..

yinz = 赢!

hey girl...., this entry's for you...., affectionately known as "yinz" on the blog.
Not sure if you are/were in the mood to blog-surf...
Well, definitely not a good news to "hear" such a series fo unfortunate events had befallen on you..

No amount of cliché consolations would help, so I'm not trying to say things like"cheer up!" , "All will be fine", 'be strong", "hang on there" etc...

Everyone of us might have gone through tough times in life, or yet to , or some lucky ones never will. Yours came at this time.....

I do think its a wise move to take a break, throw everything aside and be AS (Anti-Social) for sometime.
I realise, when we just seperate ourselves from the familar world we know for a period of time, things might just seem to turn for the better when you are back to reality!
yeah..., some may say its escaping from reality.
But to me, by escaping (temporarily), I get to reflect and "recuperate" from my fall and will be better prepared for the next round of reality, even if it may not be rosey.

It's not shameful to "run away" for a while, but must remember to come back hor...?
" One who Fights and Run Away, Lives to Fight Another Day! "
Compared to, One who fights and dies, that means you never have a chance to turn failure into victory.
so , no point fighting if you know its just struggling to prolong the sufferring...
Take time out for yourself, even just stay at home and lay in bed doing nothing or sleep.

Still, I can't avoid such cliché phrase....
Take care and see you soon yeah?
See you back as the same jovial gal as before...!

Back on Water soon???

my hp sms ringtone this morning woke me up at (10am).
Yup, I have the luxury of waking up after 12pm everyday... lol

It's a sms that I should be jubilant to read about. In fact, I will be disappointed if I didnt received it..
Prayers answered?

"Hi yong tee, this is ( XXX ) from (XXX) dragon boat person in charge. This saturday the team got training at (XXX) 2Pm... If you keen pls come down and look for me."

Am glad I would have the chance to hold and use the piece of wood (which mabel has always "affectionately coined") again.
Didnt really get all hype-up on it though.. but the thought of that familar training grounds(or rather, water?) does create a high level of anticipation for this saturday....

白菊

Made a trip to Upper Thomson yesterday to get some gadgest fixed on my car..
without ryhme or reason, the direction sign " Mandai Crematorium & Columbarium" just caught my eye, and instinctively, I just had a strong urge to make a trip in.

And I realised, its 2 months on....
To pay my tribute personally...
Made a turn to Chong Pang market and gotten 白菊 , which i never took a second look before...

5 simple stalks of flowers, for the 5 extraordinary guys.

I thought..., why was there such a strong affinity despite being total strangers?
At that moment, I realise what was the reason.

We are all connected by the strong bond that spans among the fraternity, and the love for what the sports brings us. An arena where competitive spirits never cease, and yet, brotherhood/sisterhood is formed among this competitive relationship. Takng no physical form or shape, but all for the love of one common sports.

Thank you, for re-affirming why I still want to carry on rowing.
It may not be the same team, but it's still for the same passion, the same sports, with the same drive....

hidden meanings or Prophecy?

"...No one can find the rewind button,
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe, just breathe,Woah breathe, just breathe.."

"...These mistakes you've made,
you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around...."

"....We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone..."

"...In every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground..."

"..Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end..."

"... Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so..."

Missing....

suddenly my weekedns dont seem so tightly-packed as before...
I can have like half a saturday free, plus half sunday free??!! i.e, i didnt plan for anything, and do/go whereever i please...

something , somewhere is missing in my life..
And in response to that, i guess what i have been doing these days is just trying to fill up all these "emptiness" that has quietly crept in since don't know when....

Apart form some activities and programs that i truly enjoyed, sometimes i can just have nowhere to go, nothing to do or simply too lazy to make last minute appointments...

Guess i have reached the satge of "Stagnation" in my life. probably I'll coined this as a term in life where i suddenly just lose my passion, my aim, my drive...

What's that missing ingredient actually....
I just felt as though my weekends are so wasted sometimes....
Shall embark on the "journey" to 寻回那不知何时何地所消失得感觉。。。

can't get enuff...

Anyone who's interested in something that cost me half a thousand and looks no more than a palm-size, which took up 3hrs of waiting time just "staring" while the installation takes place.
Presenting..., just the remote for the 2-way Anti-theft car alarm system.
What it does to justify the cost:
it has adjustable "shock" sensor, meaning as light as a slight knock on the car chasis will activate the alarm.
Keyless entry/remote engine start - you can start the car engine remotely from few hundreds meter away before you even see/reach your car.
2-way alarm meaning, all info on the ar will be "page" to teh LCD remote , alerting you of status of car, as long you are in range...
Range up to 1.5 click as per manual (but i would rather discount it to 500metres to narrow down my expectations...)
Turbo timer, and many more nice features..
Do find its worth it, just that have to really spend wisely for this month...

Glad that for 2008, I have embarked on something I set out during 2007!
Today ws my first class/lesson for MTV Dance Mix! something I have always envied and wish I could pick up!
Well, as the name suggest, its Dance moves of MTV dance tracks.
picture dance steps for songs like "The way I Are" , "All Eyes on me", thats what you get to learn inthe class! Some might say its like hip-hop, while not wrong , but its not fully hip-hop or breakdance. The best exampple would be the annual Fun-ka-mania organised by NTU.
Today's lesson was on chorus for the track,
"All Eyes on Me" By Letoya Luckett
Chorus part:
"All Eyes.. on Me
And I know that you, Want a piece of me
I'm feeling like all eyes
On me
The way my body moves
Is making you crazy"
Though the moves we learnt is not in this MTV, but its wonderfuly cheorograph by the instructor.

Short verse that last less than 20secs, and it took 1 hour lesson.. But ITS FUN!!
Wonder if there will be chance for the song 杀手 by 林俊杰.. personally, i like the dance moves and the beat...
(the below moves would acurately describe what this course on MTV Dance Mix is all about)

Hoepfully one day can dance to the msuic of The Way I Are , instead of just warming up moves to that song...

well, after lesson one, at least i know i still have some rythem of music flowing within me.. ahha.. just that still cant catch up to the speed.... Already so looking forward tonext sunday lesson... Too bad its only 1 hr per lesson per week..
Can't get enuff of it!

This week also marks my first rookies session with SPC Outrigger.
Comments:
The outrigger boat is so light! it can glide , even with 6 person and not fully synchronised. lol...
as its a rookies session, majority of us had no prior experience with outrigger , except for the coswaint who is the last man.
becos with the "thing" sticking out by the left side to "balance" the boat, its rather smooth even on open sea!

The seats are really comfy.. cos they wrapped each individual seats around with a layer of foam like material... like those yoga mat thingy...
As for technique wise, its really very very similar to Dragon boating...
Twist and pull using the core muscle and not jerking... and also utilising the legs as well.

But one thing very challenging here is you have to row both left and right..
We start with odd numbers row right, and even left.
Then change about every 14 strokes...
Command "Hard" was given, and i thought it was "Hard 10".. lol
But its actually one hard pull, and change paddle to the other side witin that one stroke timing! thats amazingly fun and nice when everyone is synchronizing...
Wel, first lesson, everyone is very quiet, so i tried to give the timing sometimes when the synchronisationis really out.. but stil, the boat is quiet lor... *sianz*
Maybe still need time to warm up..

Shall try for second rookie session next week and see how's the progress...

=)

Then sunday, Back tobeach volleyball!!
First one in 200 and since teh last one which was like some 5 months ago??!
Felt so tired and drained by the sun, and the weird weather.. suddenly rain for a minute, then scorching sun, then rain abit, the sun again,... hahaaa
At least it does help in gettingback my tan.. *i sound so vain now*... lol

JB for a reason....

Been a hectic week, which I cant recall exactly what i did this week that got me all busy..
I just knew i was rushing from one point to the other everyday...
Dead tired after getting back home from work, then when i woke up, its rushing time again....
hmm... At least something still stays fresh in my mind..
Made 2 separate trips to JB this week., to get my new spoiler done
Its been almost a year since my almost "religious weekly" trip years back when i just gotten my ride.

Well, I suddently got the 'kick" of being in JB again.
all the cheap stuffs there and food...
Dont know who remembers (not me,...) that Singapore used to have this fried Chicken fast food restaurant called "Mary Brown"! it was exactly like the now KFC, but according to the "seniors", Mary Brown was one of the pioneer Fried Chicken fast Food restaurant in Singapore!
And the price is still very much cheaper! A Lucky Plate meal cost only RM9.00

Lucky Plate meal serves in real crockery
well, once the spoiler is fixed, treated my ride to a car wash..

Damn cheap... if they offer such rates/service in S'pore, I wouldnt bother to wash my car myself..

RM10 and you get manual Foam Wash with vacuum inclusive!

there's even a Giant store there to shop for groceries and such.
Its like a one-stop for all services. Gets teh car done, washed, and shop all under one roof... Which driver will not take teh opportunity to pump up fll tank before exit.. moreover, the petrol pric is just 50% of what you pay in Singapore!

The infamous JB checkpoint. - No Jam, cos its a Sat night...

RAIN,....

"Rain,
feel it on my finger tip, Hear it on my window pane
Rain,
wash away my sorrow, Take away my pain... "
Suddenly a STORM blew over..
Yeah, thunder and rain...
And first tiem ever, I witness the Traffic Lights at teh trafific Junction to my house went down..
No Traffic policr officer or whatsoever was there to do any coordination...

The Singapore Law clearly prohibits drivers to holda handphione in their hand while driving, or even when teh car is stationary at the traffic lights.
So, I didnt make a call, but just keep my eyes wide-open before I negotiate a turn out of teh junction...
*heng*.....
I'm still well and kicking writing this blog.

Then its anotehr first sighting..
The foot of Mt Faber at the junction towards Vivo..
Its Flooded... yeah, to teh extent you can see the differentiation between the pesdestrian pavement and the roads' markings...
Brownish fluids flood the junction of te foot of Mt faber...

*Scary*....

but still, i still like rainy days...
Ironic it may sounds...
but it brings back good old memories...
Folding paper boats, then putting them in the small Uncovered "long Kangs" at the edge of teh HDB ground floor corridor, and follow through the boat to see where the drains takes it, or how far it can go before being "drowned" by the rain....

Or even to just be walking in the rain, or standing in the middle of the pouring rain, or playing in the rain..
It's kinda "high" sometimes... lol...

Loved just tucked in the bed on a stormy night, lights off and television on... nice feeling....

Now, that made me loves rainy day...

Registration Closed...!

I thought I would still be in time when i went to the counter to enquire for the registration form...
Closing date was supposed to be another 2 weeks...
To my dismay...,
Closed due to Overwhelming response...
Darn.....

Singapore, Safe?

Guess what... Singapore is not as safe as it seems....
Picture this...
I walked to my car at a multi-story carpark at 3am.
Surprise, surprise...
The spoiler on my car was gone, window'sender were also obviously detached away..

Some mother fucker who is so hard up for money had resorted taking it away from my car.
pity him/them... they cant afford something that was 3 years old and cost barely $100.
Well it's an undeniable fact that security of the car is the onus of the carpark operator. afterall, they are protected by an exemption clause.

Was pissed, but 庆幸的是,its not a sabotage, and the rest of my carr donot suffered from any disfigure-ment...
well, just take it as a chance to change a spoiler then..

knowing that making a police report will be of zero value, at least that will make them aware S'pore is not as safe as everyone thought...

New Sports?

Sianz....Fort Minor - "Remember the Name"

checked with the Team Captain/Manager and realised training will MOST PROBABLY resume only end of 1st Quarter...
means another 2 more months...
That all adds up to 6 months of "departure" from training...

*creak*.... *creak*.... *creak*...
I can feel the "rustiness" setting in.... (Sianz X 2....)
One little consolation though, there's gonna be an outrigger course for beginner organised by the team (read:RBS), affiliated to SPC in some ways....

Well, many may say, outrigger has some resemblance to dragon Boating...., but still different. (Same Same but Different)
I won't go into comparison, cos I am still new to them all.. But still a six man "boat" compared to a 10/20 crew boat, they command different team spirit and team work.
Could this be an option for a new sports?
Frankly.. I don't know, wait til i try it out... soon...

I really like this song with the below lyrics.. Though its a really "old" song, but the part of the lyrics that you can ctach is really meaningful...
"This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name! "

Happily Ever-after

Stephen Bishop - "It Might be You"

My Second elder Brother wedding on the 5th Jan 2008....
The day started early.. well, Chinese are somewhat particular about timing when it comes to marriages...
Dont really know why early hours are always auspicious hours though... hmmm.....
Though I am not the one required to wake up extremely early, my day started only at 5plus in the morning when i drove my mum to the market.
I guess the busy people on wedding days have got to be the the Bride & Groom, besides teh wedding planner...
Then its just a simple decor on the car.. (My eldest bro car is teh bridal cr, which I forgot to take a pic!!I loved the flowers.. looked damn nice on black... lol
Solemnization at the hotel garden Terrace.. Very nice outdoor settings with "waterfall" backdrop and small 'stream"
Mum & dad on extreme right, followed by my sis
Nice little door gifts for the Wedding Lunch Banquet
Presenting... the bride and groom! March -in and Champagne Pouring...
i think the Banquet manager is clever enough to place the champagne glass strucure below the stage and below waist level, so that the couple's hand will not tremble" haveing to hold the bottle for the endless pour...

*~*~*~*~ HAPPILY EVER-AFTER *~*~*~*~*

Video Kill the Radio Stars? -Not quite...

娃娃-"曾经沧海"

Click once to activate player
Click again to play

Been listening to the radio station 88.3 加 FM.
Many people still relate it to the old Dongli 88.3 of the Safa radio.. though it still is very much related to Safra radio.

But it plays a mixed of Chinese and English music.
Ocassionally, I tune in to the statin on the road.., and guess what was my favourite segment...?
Its their hourly " 经典情歌", where they randomly play a 经典情歌.

And...,all these 经典 were very much familar to me.. infact, I was there with my ears glued to the radio when they top the charts...

Darn... ! They have become 经典歌曲??
What does that spell...?
Ironically, 又爱又恨。。。
*** 岁月崔人老 ****
Some of my fave stations to listen online (Thanks online technology):
http://www.capitalradio.co.uk (UK Station)- A great mixed of latest pop/dance! From atke-that to pussycat dolls, rihanna, Pain whit T's, Snow Patrol...etc! Its not so ear deafening/perect as 98.7, not as class as Class 95, neither as powerful as 98.0, but its very very very highly recommended for a good mix of latest and not too latest chart toppers...
http://www.radio913.com (S'pore station)- Newly re-vamped 91.3 that is really really awe-some! The onl Local English Station that can be compared to the UK stations..The best and latest singles can be heard here. Likes of Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and many many pop and Club hits (minus the remixes)!
Its great alternative on weekends nights if you failed to squeeze into any clubs for a dosage of dance music!
http://www.magic.co.uk (UK Station)- When you thought Class 95 isn't sentimental enuff or songs way too old or "vintage" for you..?
Then you MUST tune in to this station! All the love songs, ballads and ALL slow soothing music that you definitely can relate to!
If i Must rate it agst Class 95, this station wins Hands-down!
**Be warned** Avoid it at night if you are the very emo-type.. it has depressing effects....

Another Begining...

Its a New Year, 2008.looking back 2007 and the past 27 years, I would say I'm kinda satisfied. Of course, it could have been very much better.

On a satisfaction scale of 1 to 10, i would rank myself on the number "6"
Just better than average probably..
Since day one when I understood what paper qualifications mean in Singapore, I aimed to get a degree, a job in the concrete jungle, and taking back decent 'bread & butter' back.
Glad these were achieved.
An "ok lah" degree.., and count among "rats" in the corpoate world.... lol
If God/神/Allah grant me 3 things to take along from this world, I will not hesistate and says these will be ," Memories, Memories & more meories"
Sounds cliche, but i think these are really the best treasure we all possess.

In 2008, what do i aimed to achieve?
Realistically to me, its money.
In this world, and especially in singapore where standard of living are getting higher, if you want a easier life, this aspect is without fail, a 'need'.. not a 'want'
In the world of economics on Scarcity, Money is definitely not a scarce resource..

So, pursue it!

And of cos,Friends. To maintain and strengthen the frenship , especially those formed in year 2007. It would marked a one year milestone....
and to existing friendship formed since 2007 and earlier, it means we have gone through one more year of unfaltered friendship!

Still gonna keep to my routine sports over the weekends.
Volleyball and rowing.
Would be the same Vball team, but it's gonna be a different rowing team.
Nevertheless, the passin wil still remain.

Well, a countdown will begin starting from 365 days....
No matter how bad your 2008 has started, rest-assured there's still 365 more days to turn it around...
