雨天？

Weather dont look good from the window..
The east side looks very cloudy and gloomy...
In fact, i think its raining there liao...
Training should still be proceeding as plan (hopefully).

Thansk Lor.. there goes my "Melben" Crab.!!

supposed to have butter Crab, Crab Bee Hoon 螃蟹米粉 @ AMK Melben...
But right now I am stuck in the office... Sianz X 10

Thansk to a last minute "recall" on friday , that we have to be back for additional testing to be done...

WTH....
So last minute...
Felt so apologetic that I organised this "Crabby" dinner weeks ago, and in the end, yours truly am the one to back-out last minute......

what's worst, building Air-con not on, cos its not expected anyone to be working on a Saturday..
Thanks lor.....

planning to pack my luggage today, but now have to to that tmrw before flying off at night...
Sianz.. lucky nothing much to pack, few set of clothes and then its done. (hopefully)

on a happier note,
Managed to secure a Cheap tic (again!) to Tokyo For June holidays...!!
SGD 706 incl. taxes!!
Cheaper than the 738 i got last year! But of cos , becos its diff airlines..
Cathay Pacific this time...
there'sa very strong reason to fly Cathay becos i need to take Jap Domestic Flight to Hokkaido, which can results in more savings....
Yesterday got a better quote at NATAS @ SGD686 though....
But missed it, thanks to my "理性" judgement....
see, classic example of how u missed out on Opportunity when you depend on 理性judgement.. Lol

And surprise surprise, this bargain of 706 not from NATAS though. (price-breaker instead)
cos i turned back after seeing the queue stretching like forever today.

Ok, brace myself for Tokyo next week.
It's for work this time.... Hopefully can still "steal" some time out to enjoy wonderful Tokyo again!

Meaningful

Sounds weird if you read in in the "Chinese Manner"
Afterall, its meant to be in Cantonese.
Still, you can figure out the meaning from the pharses

请不要灰心 你也会有人妒忌
你仰望到太高 贬低的只有自己

慰藉自己
开心的东西要专心记起

爱护自己
是地上拾到的真理

做甚么也好 别为着得到赞赏

Oh What a Weekend!

**********Saturday**********
Havent tasted "breakfast" for like ages, since i always sleep past the breakfast timing...
Finally, tasted nice breakfast again.
Chwee Queh, Chee Cheong Fun, Carrot cake, washed down with Tao Hui Jwee.

I must say, this is one of the longest breakfast I have had.. stretching all the way til noon, but time just seems to past so fast when you are with good companions with like-minded topics!

Oh yeah, and must say this is indeed a "fruitful" breakfast, with a target set and hopefully, a goal achievable in June...

Went to "shop" for a sofa thereafter to replace our over 20years old....
Then its a first time dinner in over 20 years since my brothers and sister all sit down together in one table. Something to cheer about, its not just us 4 siblings, but also added on to our extended family tree, with my 2 sisters-in-law and nephew.

I cant recall when was the last time the four of us had sat down together having dinner, minus the formal family dinners scenarios...

Then, managed to catch a bit of rest before heading down to my colleague's new house for a little post-wedding-house-warming event.
Mahjongs, Black-jack, a little of XBOX360 and of cos FOOD!

Didn't dare to stay too long into the night, cos gotta wake up next day for lessons...
I believe i slept soundly, thanks to the fun-filled and "enriching" day!
Un-interrupted 7 hours of sleep.

********Sunday *********
So reluctant to get out of bed at 10.... yet, still looking very much to the day ahead.
MTV Dance lesson @ 10am
Body pump @ 230pm
DB trg @ 400pm

and then its DIM SUM DOLLIES @ 800pm!

Well, its basically a re-run of the previous show in 2007. But since i missed it last year, i got my ticket like 1 month in advance.

Luckily i did so, cos it was a sold out night tonight!
Still runnign for the next four nights, til the 28th Feb.
So if you dont want to miss this last re-run, go catch it!
Its really great and entertaining, expecially with it Politically provocative content, its just so nice! Where else can you hear critics on Singapore polictics weaved in such a "indirect" manner?

BTW, BROADWAY BENG 3 is coming SOON!!
If your are singaporean, and understand Hokkien, you wouldn't want to miss this too!!!
"m sure I;ll have another good night sleep tonight...
*yawnz....*

Strike it!

How do you know whether i strike $10 M jackpot today?

You see me in a new Mini SUV which I paid in full using cold hard cash.

You heard news that A new Cafe by the Beach is in plan in Sentosa beach front.

You read in "Wan Bao" （晚报）that a meagre office worker strike the $10M Jackpot.

Wish me Luck!
lol...

Buying "Hope"

Hoping that I can strike it rich this Thursday night...

have you bought your 'Hope"?
I did, and gonna buy more "hopes".....

heeehee...... c",)

Breathless

A romantic love song or rather, a sad one?
Still, its so nice!

Breathless
If our love was a fairytale
I would charge in and rescue you
On a yacht baby we would sail
To an island where we'd say I do
And if we had babies they would look like you
It'd be so beautiful if that came true
You don't even know how very special you are

[ Chorus ]
You leave me breathless
You're everything good in my life
You leave me breathless
I still can't believe that you're mine
You just walked out of one of my dreams
So beautiful you're leaving me Breathless

And if our love was a story book
We would meet on the very first page
The last chapter would be about
How I'm thankful for the life we've made

And if we had babies they would have your eyes
I would fall deeper watching you give life
You don't even know how very special you are

[ Chorus ]

You must have been sent from
heaven to earth to change me
You're like an angel
The thing that I feel is
stronger than love believe me
You're something special
I only hope that I'll one day
deserve what you've given me
But all I can do is try
Every day of my life

Happy Sunday!

A wonderful Sunday today...

I "won" in my gamble.
Infact, I won without even "risking".
Cos apparently, the IC got the place wrong. Trg "Ground" was at SDBA!
Though aching all over from yesterday's land trg, that familiar ground already perks me up the minute i set foot on the uneven coarse & uneven granite flooring, with the sights of white big & small boats aligning themself neatly side-by-side.

"it great to be here again..."
Training with our used-to-be-rival-but-soon-to-turn-team-mates was a great feeling. Coach was an experience coach, whom needless to say, bound to learn lots from him.
It was a good training.

First time rowing in the "evening". The crowd around is so diferent from the mornings. But somethings just never changed. c",)

After trg ended, it was dinner time.
And yet again, I satisfy my weekly crave for Jap food at MEIDI-YA! A crave thats is "unhealthy" to the pockets.
I think i'm "falling in love" with MEIDI-YA. All the Jap groceries, Sushi, and even a mini super expensive Japanese food court just outside the checkout counter.
Fortunately, I am an easily satisfied person. Pre-pack Sushi "combo" and Sashimi is enough to send me up to cloud-9.
How can i not "loiter" around the supermart and scout for authentic Jap Snacks and food.
Luckily I am still "well-disciplined"... managed to control my expenditure there. Else I gonna be broke way before the next pay day...

Tmrw is a Off-day for me. Yeah......!!!
Gonna give my "Phoenix" a little more "life" tmrw... something that has been delayed for 3 months. =)

what ifs (2)

i think i'm in for a big "gamble" and "risk-taking" today...
One that can really 撕破脸皮 kinda thing...

yet again, my company is having an "experimental"trial row with ABN later this afternoon. (in view of the merger hapening very soon..)
All staffs are encouraged and welcome to join in this trial trg..

Best part is, its taking place at KLSSC... exactly where the current team i am with is trg.
Timing didnt clash, but what if their coach hapens to be the same coach?
Becos its moe common for free-lance coaches to be trg at SDBA instead of KLSSC...

I tell myself that its highly unlikely the coach wil turnout to be the same person... If a rower is not allowed to row with more than one tean, then how can a captain of a team coach 2 different teams then?
Maybe I am just paranoid...

heck with the "What ifs"
It only makes us miserable.
I remember that.

What ifs....

Went for second trg today....

Land trg followed by sea.
Its also one which leaves me pondering for some time on my move to join the team in the first place..
Was it out of rashness?
Am i too eager to row agian that I didnt think of the other consequences...?

What if one day we had a chance to return and row together as the old team back then?
would i missed out on that if i continue my stay now?
Or what if we never get to go back to the good old days....?

is the current team I'm with now just as good?
Seriously, I think i dont learnt much here... its getting very stagnant... we can build power and endurance... but the techniques are just not polished...
No doubt they are powerful...
But i just felt something is missing.
The team spirit.

The same feeling that was lost way back many months....

the decision to stay or discontinue will be one with no truning back...
Where should i go from here thereafter?
Will the same scenario replay itself if i moved on?

A casual chat with Jo over MSN while penning this entry, these words of her just struck me:

Jo: i mean dont try to think of how it could have been if you'd chosen the other way.
thats what makes us miserable most of the time right, wondering about 'what ifs'

What should i do?
I think I will just follow my heart, since my head cant do the thinking....

*****************************************

Putting that aside for a moment, went for a "reunion BBQ" with hostel mates during the uni days...
Hall 9, where we stayed under one roof , or rather a few roofs, and does all the silly things together...
DIY BBQ pit and messing up the lounge, and of cos still cleaning it up at the end of the day.... lol

Ok, this time we are abit lazy, so we cater for some food, but nevertheless, still did some shopping and preparation of food. (though i was not involved, as i could only join later..... apologies!) Thanks people!

Felt so nostalgic back in the familar place. Our theme is to don on our Hall t-shirt for this "event".
We were like so "Hall Patriotic" that we were machiamback to support the hall in some IHG semi/finals..

Suddenly , it felt so nice to be in Maroon T, our Hall 9 Colours....

Why only today?

Wouldn't it be more enviable and meaningful if your girl received a bouquet /stalk of rose(s) from you on any other normal days?

Wouldn't you as a passer-by, be more envious of the gal if you saw a guy presenting roses to a gal NOT on V-day?

why only on V-day when she most expect flowers from you?
Wouldn't it be more of a surprise and make her day more to receive flowers any other days?

"heart" Vs "Head"

Well, for the benefit of anyone who caouldn;t get teh meaning of 感性 and 理性。

Simply put in layman's term,

感性 = Rules by Heart
理性 = Rules by Head

hmmm....... =(

Then...

indulge....

Suddenly have a craving for flavoured "Muah Chi", so i risk my "life" and thread down to Chinatown at a time like this....

Expected ,
Full crowds, and people ar hardly moving in some areas, that if you dont force your way, it will take you 30 mins to walk 30meters...

Not hard to spot a stall selling this up and coming New Year Goodies.

From Saturday's price of $1 per 100gram to 1 packet full (about 500gram) @ $3.
So, worth the bit of squeeze....
But I swear, no way will I go ther again on CNY eve. Anyway, I'll be in Office then...

The next craving starts ringing in my head.
Peppermint flavoured ICe-cream!

Feel like indulging in just a small tub in the ocmfort of home...
So, I thought I could get a wide selection at Giant.
Though they pack countless big brand of ice-creams; B&J, Swensen's, Haagen Daz, and commonly seen Magnolia, Wall's, King's etc.

Sad to say, all big brands have all exotic flavours, but they forgot about the 长青口味,
PEPPERMINT!
Disappointed.
Luckily, there is one single brand that carries it , and i think the taste 不逊与 revenue-generating brands like B&J, HD.....

Fortunately I dont have expensive tatse-buds, so this King's Ice-cream suits just fine! The very same one you get form the road-side Motorbike ice-cream uncle...
500ml, Mmmmm...............

When??

My computer is down with lotsa tracker virus.. and its causing serious browser's problems to me for the past weeks...
No Virus can/Windows defender is helping...

Just before anyone think its got to do with surfing porn site...
think again....
I bet its from those trackers site where i download songs, serial shows..... (non-stops)

Luckily I have a Lappy as "back-up"...
And that's the very reason why I am procrastinating on reformating my Desktop PC...

So lazy.....

Double *Sigh*

Paddles Up!

This the day I've been waiting for for the whole week....
The familiar commands ringing in my ear..
"Paddles Up", 'Stretch out"....
2pm, and a long long run..... I swear its at least 5km.....

Then, no more luxury of just pulling boat out from the water...
Its's literally Carrying the boats out onto the waters...

Followed by sets after sets...
Just when i Thought heading back was the end of the day, it was only a Break" on shore.
Then its back onto the boat and sets begin...

I must say, I'm impressed....
A Trial:
clocking well below 1:30 with 4 deadweights onboard!
The power, fighting spririt and adrenalin, you can feel it on the boat.
Scary...

Just when you thought trg was overafter 2hours plus... still need to carrythe boats onto the shore...
Hahaa.... thats really trg....
I was told, trg just gonna get more rigorous, cos MR500 is near....

*sigh*

Interesting... Only if we could come tog as a team for this event....
Too bad, there's a clauses that prohibits this.....

An excert adapted from www.sdba.org.sg

A continuous 3-hour dragon boat relay organized by corporate teams in solidarity with the dragon boating community, to raise funds and create awareness towards the sport.

The tragedy that struck the Singapore National Dragon Boat Team in Cambodia last November is the reason for the Corporate Dragon Boat Relay 2008: Show of Faith.

This unique relay, a special corporate affiliates initiated event with the support of SDBA, will kick off the Singapore Dragon Boat Association’s (SDBA) events calendar this year, conveys the strong support from corporate teams for the sport and the dragon boat community at large.

We hope that through this event, we can raise the public awareness that dragon boating is a safe sport, especially so in Singapore.
This is also the first time that corporate organizations, who normally view each other as competitors on the water, are coming together to show our concerted support to the sport that we are all so passionate about,” said Mr Adrian Tan, spokesperson for the corporate organizing committee and co-captain of Shell’s dragon boat team.

Paddlers with no experience are also welcome to paddle alongside with seasoned paddlers, so more people will come to know what dragon boating is about, and that it is a safe sport.

Dragon boating has been gaining in popularity over the past few years and is notable for its strong corporate involvement and support, because it promotes teamwork and camaraderie,” said RADM (RET) Kwek Siew Jin, President (SDBA).

Sadly, a clause in the Entry rules states:

"ELIGIBILITY
The paddlers for this race must be employees of any corporate organization."
